Trans-Africa Land-Rover

After several years of planning, the book documenting Philip Kohler’s trans-African journey and his solo crossing of the Sahara desert is finally in the final stages of production and due for delivery at the end of April 2022.

With his 1959 Series II Land Rover and Leica camera, Kohler traversed his way Africa, taking hundreds of stunning photographs as he explored the continent and its culture.

This book is a high quality, 144-page hardback, packed with images and tales from his life – from leaving his home in South Australia, bound for Europe, to his first taste of film work on the set of Hatari! and eventual career as location manager on epics such as The Empire Strikes Back and Full Metal Jacket.
